How to read this list of Travel subreddits

Travel splits cleanly into two shapes, and both are on this list. Destination rooms answer where and when, and the products they link are booking sites, transport passes and connectivity. Technique rooms answer how, and the products they link are trackers, award search and planning tools. A product usually belongs firmly in one shape, and picking the wrong one wastes the whole effort.

The seasonality is real and it is not visible in this table. A destination room peaks months before its season and goes quiet after, so a room ranked twelfth today may have been second in the spring. A window that spans months smooths that out rather than removing it. If your product is seasonal, read this list as a map of who exists rather than who is loud today.

Travel rooms are also among the most tolerant of a useful tool, because the questions are genuinely repetitive and a good answer saves everybody time. That tolerance ends at anything resembling an affiliate link, which the regulars spot instantly. Check the arrival column, then decide whether you have a post or an answer.

Because they link to travel products constantly. We classify the product, never the room, so a room about visiting one country appears here when a large share of what people link inside it are booking, transport and planning products.

Slowly. The window spans months, which smooths a season rather than tracking it. A destination room will still drift up before its peak and down afterwards, so a room low on the list today may be central three months from now.

In several of them, yes, and travel is one of the more welcoming categories for a tool that answers a repeated question. Affiliate links are the exception that gets noticed and removed. Read the arrival column to see whether the room takes links inside posts at all.

Yes. Several non English travel rooms appear in this list, because the products linked in them resolve the same way. The page itself is in English, but the ranking does not privilege English rooms.
