How to read this list of Industry-specific subreddits

Vertical software is discussed by practitioners, in rooms about the job rather than about software. A property manager asking which system handles a specific lease case is not in a software room, and that is precisely why this category is worth a page: the tooling conversation is buried inside trade rooms that no software directory would list.

These rooms are small in link volume and high in intent. The person asking already runs the business, already pays for something, and is describing a real failure of it. There is no equivalent of that anywhere in the general software rooms, and it is why a modest position on this list can be worth more than a strong one elsewhere.

The catch is fragmentation. Each trade has its own room, its own incumbent and its own vocabulary, and a product that serves three verticals will find three unrelated shortlists here. That is a real cost, and it is also the reason the incumbents in these spaces are so rarely displaced. A newcomer that wins one vertical outright is in a stronger position than one that ranks fifth in four of them, and this list is the cheapest way to see which vertical has a room worth entering.

See the products, not just the rooms

The rooms are free. Which products the radar found inside each one is the paid part of PulsePeek, and it is the difference between a room that fits your product and a room that already has one.

Questions about Industry-specific communities

Software built for one trade or sector rather than for any business: property management, field service, freight, clinical, legal and similar. General tools like a CRM or an invoicing app are classified in their own categories instead.

Because that is where the tooling conversation actually happens. Practitioners discuss their systems in the room about their trade, not in a software room, and we classify the product rather than the room.

More open than most, on the condition that you know the trade. A vendor who understands the workflow is treated as useful; one who has read a landing page is spotted immediately. The arrival column shows which rooms take links inside posts.

Because these rooms are smaller and buy less often. What they lose in volume they gain in intent: the person asking already runs the business and is describing a real failure of the system they pay for.
