GummySearch has shut down. What to use instead
GummySearch closed on 30 November 2025. An honest map of what replaced it, and which tool fits which job.
What GummySearch does better
GummySearch set the standard for Reddit audience research. Its community discovery and its pain point analysis were better than anything that existed before it, and most tools in this space, ours included, are answering questions it framed first.
GummySearch shut down on 30 November 2025. Its site is still reachable and some pages still rank, which is why you may have landed on it expecting a working product.
Its founder published a list of recommended replacements. This page is not a rebuttal of that list, it is a wider map, including where PulsePeek fits and where it does not.
What GummySearch actually did
It was a Reddit audience research tool. You searched keywords across communities, it surfaced the conversations, and it grouped them into patterns: pain points, requests, comparisons. Its free tier allowed 50 keyword searches, and paid plans started at 29 dollars a month.
Its real strength was community discovery: finding which subreddits your audience lives in, then reading what they complain about. That is the job most of its users are still trying to replace. We cover the first half of it, sorting communities by what actually gets discussed in them, and not the second.
The replacements, by job
Different former users had different jobs, and no single tool covers all of them. Its founder recommends BuzzAbout for cross platform research, PainOnSocial for pain point analysis, and Clearbox, RedReach, SubredditSignals or ReplyAgent for lead generation.
- Finding leads and replying to threads. The lead generation tools above are built for that. PulsePeek is not: it does not write replies and does not queue outreach.
- Coverage beyond Reddit. BuzzAbout spans several platforms. We read online communities, with Reddit as the centre of gravity.
- Extracting pain points from conversations. PainOnSocial is aimed squarely at that.
- Knowing which products a market recommends. That is the job PulsePeek is built for, and it is the one least covered by the list.
Where PulsePeek differs
GummySearch started from a keyword you typed. PulsePeek starts from nothing: products are detected in conversations, resolved to a real site and category, and ranked against each other by traction.
That matters when you do not yet know the names to search. A competitor you have never heard of never appears in a keyword search, because you never typed it. That is why finding rivals from your own site rather than from a list sits at the centre of what we do.

If you were a GummySearch user
Be honest about which of its features you actually used. Most people used two: finding the right subreddits, and reading what people complain about there.
- If you mostly searched keywords, any of the monitoring tools will feel familiar.
- If you mostly discovered communities, look for a tool that maps subreddits by category rather than by search.
- If you mostly wanted to know which products people recommend, that is what we do.
See which products your market recommends, without typing a single keyword.
